Who can attend the training?
This module is open to those who have completed both Foundations modules.
What will I learn?
Intermediate 1 is the first of two Facilitation Modules in Collective Resilience’s certification sequence. Unlike the Foundations Modules, which primarily focus on foundational frameworks and broad understanding of concepts, the Facilitation Modules dive deep into the practicalities of facilitating trauma-informed classes, sequences, and spaces.
Through discussion, lecture, small & large group work, and case studies, participants will learn, explore, and practice specific trauma-informed yoga facilitation tools necessary for creating compassionate, welcoming spaces that break down barriers. This module will hone participants’ understanding of attachment theory, the Polyvagal system, systems of privilege & oppression, compassion for self and others, as well as nervous system regulation and how it can be used to cultivate a greater sense of safety for individuals and groups. Through these lenses, the training will explore barriers to inclusion for specific people & populations - including BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+ folks, disabled folks, and larger-bodied folks, among others - and how facilitators can minimize those barriers in their own teaching.
